Sue Riffe is the owner and guide of She Flew Birding Tours and has led tours to major hotspots in the US and in Colombia, Mexico, Ecuador, Panama, and Costa Rica. As a retired band director and professional musician, she has a unique understanding of bird songs and how to teach them to others. Sue has served on several Audubon Boards, has taught classes for the Denver Field Ornithologist’s Master Birder Program, and has recently been the field trip chair for Colorado Field Ornithologists. Sue will help us explore musical vocabulary to analyze bird songs we hear, and will introduce different ways to learn these songs. The next morning, you will have the opportunity to use your newly gained musical vocabulary to identify bird sounds on a field trip to Billy Creek SWA.
