Annual Eckert Crane Days, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, March 17, 18, and 19, at Crane Point or the Causeway at Fruitgrowers Reservoir near Eckert, 8:30 a.m.-noon.  We will be observing migrating sandhill cranes and area waterfowl. We will hope for favorable weather.  The cranes typically fall out in the evenings and lift off about 10:00 or 11:00 the next day on their migration northward.  The Crane Days event is planned for each morning in anticipation of observing the morning lift off.  Bring your binoculars; BCAS members will have spotting scopes set up for the use of visitor and will be present to answer questions.  Bluebird boxes will be available for a donation of $20 each.

Hart’s Ranch, adjacent to the Causeway, isoffering a free lunch on Saturday, March 17 at 12:30, to provide an opportunity for them to interact with the local community and to get conservation -minded individuals together with organizations that they can partner with to improve wildlife habitat and begin discussions about easements. The free lunch is their way to give back to the community and promote conservation and sustainable management. The lunch will start at 12:30 on Saturday and more details will be available at the BCAS information table.
