Aaron Yappert will provide a PowerPoint presentation about Rosy Finches. He has been intensively studying and banding Rosy Finches for the past two years, working with Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies. Banding is currently going on in the Telluride, Ridgway, and Gunnison high-elevation areas. Brown-capped Rosy Finches, one of the three types of Rosy Finches, are usually found above 8,000 feet in the winter in Colorado and at our highest elevations in the summer. Due to their need for high elevation habitats, they are considered to be at risk due to warming climates.
