Have you ever wondered about how bird banders do their work?  Visit the bird banding station across the pedestrian bridge at the Dallas Creek portion (southern end) of Ridgway State Park to see bird banders retrieve birds from mist nets, take scientific measurements, attach bird bands, and release the birds unharmed.  Visitation time is from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  It is best to arrive early as the birds are most active early in the morning and you will see more birds then.
