Black Canyon Audubon has reserved the trailer set up for viewing the Gunnison sage grouse lek, east of Gunnison.  The trailer will hold 15 people comfortably.

It is recommended that participants spend the night before in Gunnison since the lek-viewing protocol stipulates that viewers must arrive at least ah hour before sunrise.  

Sunrise on April 25th will be 6:18 am.  Lek-viewing protocol is strictly enforced to prevent disturbing the grouse.  The Watewr Wheel Inn west of Gunnison caters to

birders - call 970-641-1650 for reservations.  Bring binoculars and a scope.  Participants are limited to 15 people, cost is $10/person.  Lek-viewing information will be

emailed to participants.
